A total of 43,461 fans made their way to the Temple of Speed to witness one of the most eagerly anticipated endurance events of the season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The race, which finished behind the Safety Car following an incident at the First Chicane, was won by the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II fielded by German team Tresor Attempto Racing and driven by Rocco Mazzola, Denmark\u2019s Sebastian Gaard and Israel\u2019s Ariel Levi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">There was no shortage of drama during the three-hour contest. The first major incident occurred just a few hundred metres after the start, again at the First Chicane, involving several cars and requiring intervention from Race Control. Another key moment was the early retirement of the No. 46 Team WRT BMW driven by Valentino Rossi, which came to a halt at the end of the pit lane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Lorenzo Patrese finished ninth overall and first in the Bronze Cup aboard the Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO II entered by Kessel Racing and shared with American driver Dustin Blattner and Germany\u2019s Dennis Marshall. Arthur Leclerc, meanwhile, finished 11th overall in the sister AF Corse Ferrari, shared with Indonesia\u2019s Sean Gelael and French driver Lilou Wadoux.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Away from the track action, the Fan Zone proved to be a major attraction. The many activities organised throughout the weekend enjoyed strong participation, helping to make the event experience even more engaging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Younger visitors had fun in the dedicated Kids Area, while fans had the opportunity to visit the official merchandise stores and take home a souvenir from the event. Beach volleyball, table tennis and the DJ Set entertainment were also particularly popular.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Great enthusiasm also surrounded the Meet &amp; Greet sessions, which gave spectators the chance to meet some of the race protagonists, collect autographs and take photographs, enjoying a unique close-up experience with the drivers. The performance of the Italian National Anthem by the Angelo Masciadri Alpine Fanfare Band from Asso (Como) was another emotional highlight of the weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Monza weekend also delivered plenty of action in the support races that completed a packed racing programme. In the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli, victory went to American driver David Thilenius and Germany\u2019s Jay Mo Hartling at the wheel of the SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm Mercedes-AMG GT2. Riccardo Ianniello and Estonia\u2019s Gregor Jeets also celebrated success in the McLaren Trophy Europe with Target Racing.
