On Sunday, 23 May 2027, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza will host the start of Stage 15 of the 110th edition of the Corsa Rosa: a 37.3-kilometre individual time trial finishing in Milan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x12ofw9d\">The announcement was made today, Tuesday, 3 November, in Rome, during the official presentation of the 2027 Giro d\u2019Italia route.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x12ofw9d\">This is a prestigious occasion for the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, which is preparing to welcome the leading figures of international cycling for what could prove to be one of the decisive stages in the overall standings. A race against the clock in which every second could make the difference in the battle for the Maglia Rosa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x12ofw9d\">The Giro returns to Monza ten years after its last visit. It was on 28 May 2017, during the centenary edition of the Corsa Rosa, that the Autodromo hosted the start of the final individual time trial, which also finished in the Lombardy capital.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x12ofw9d\">This return renews the bond between two great icons of Italian sporting history: the Giro d\u2019Italia, a symbol of the nation&#8217;s passion for cycling, and the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, a legendary venue in world motorsport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x12ofw9d\"><strong>Geronimo La Russa, President of the Automobile Club d\u2019Italia:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"x12ofw9d\">\u201cTaking an active and direct role in one of the most eagerly anticipated stages of the Corsa Rosa is particularly important and meaningful for us. The Giro d\u2019Italia is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and widely celebrated sporting events in our national sporting landscape. I am certain that a great many fans will come to the Monza Autodromo to celebrate this occasion. The Temple of Speed shares an almost eighty-year history with the race. In 1949, Monza hosted the finish of the final stage, which saw Fausto Coppi crowned overall winner. The circuit subsequently hosted the start of a stage in 1985 and, later, on 28 May 2017, the start of Stage 21, the final stage of the centenary edition of the Giro, which was also an individual time trial.
