STRONG CROWD TURNOUT AT MONZA ON SATURDAY OF THE GT WORLD CHALLENGE BY AWS

Thousands of fans made their way to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza today, Saturday, May 30, for the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.

The activities organized in the Fan Zone, set up in the former museum area, proved especially popular. Late in the morning, the Meet & Greet and autograph session attracted large numbers of fans, giving them the opportunity to meet the championship’s leading drivers up close.

A similarly enthusiastic response was seen in the late afternoon during the Pit Walk, which allowed spectators to access the pit lane and experience the paddock atmosphere firsthand. The autograph session once again drew significant public participation.

Attention is now turning to tomorrow’s final day, Sunday, May 31, when thousands of spectators are expected to attend. Qualifying for the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS will take place from 9:35 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., determining the starting grid for the 3-Hour race, which is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Earlier in the day, competitors from the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli (Race 2 at 11:55 a.m.), McLaren Trophy Europe (Race 2 at 12:35 p.m.), and GT4 European Series (Race 2 at 1:50 p.m.) will also take to the track.

Fans attending the Monza circuit will be able to enjoy a full 360-degree experience thanks to the many activities planned in the Fan Zone, including DJ sets, a Meet & Greet session (11:30 a.m. in the Fan Zone), a kids’ area, sports attractions, and merchandise stores. Several food and beverage outlets will also be available both in the Fan Zone and throughout the venue.

Before the start of the main race, the starting grid will be enlivened by a performance from the Fanfara Alpina Angelo Masciadri di Asso, which will perform a concert during the pre-grid activities and subsequently play the Italian National Anthem.

On the sporting front, today’s action featured the first races of the weekend. In the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli, victory went to Belgian driver Antoine Potty (Maserati, 4Race). In the McLaren Trophy Europe, Portuguese driver Lourenco Monteiro (SMC Motorsport) claimed the win, while in the GT4 European Series, German driver Cedric Fuchs (Mercedes-AMG, SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm) took top honors.
