FIA WEC 2026: SEASON FINALE IN MONZA WITH 14 MANUFACTURERS AND 11 ITALIAN DRIVERS ON THE GRID

The time is approaching for the engines to roar into life for the final challenge of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship. The 6 Hours of Monza, scheduled for 7–8 November, will bring the season to a close, with the remaining Hypercar and LMGT3 titles still to be decided.

Fourteen manufacturers will line up on the grid: Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Genesis, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota. Italy will be represented by 11 drivers, in a season that has seen the country host both the opening and closing rounds of the World Championship.

In Hypercar, Toyota has already secured the Manufacturers’ title, the eighth in its FIA WEC history, following its one-two finish at the 6 Hours of Barcelona. However, the Drivers’ title is still up for grabs, with an all-Toyota battle set to decide the championship. The Toyota #8 crew of Brendon Hartley, Sébastien Buemi and Ryo Hirakawa arrives in Monza with a 17-point advantage over their #7 teammates Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries and Mike Conway.

Ferrari will also be one to watch as it looks to make up its 24-point deficit to BMW in the fight for second place in the Hypercar Manufacturers’ standings, in front of its home crowd. Cadillac is also mathematically in contention for the runner-up spot, while Aston Martin, Peugeot and Genesis will be looking to end the season on a high. For Alpine, meanwhile, Monza is expected to mark its final FIA WEC appearance, following the announcement that it will withdraw from the championship at the end of the season.

In the LMGT3 category, the title fight remains wide open. The #33 Corvette Z06 TF Sport leads the standings by 18 points over the #92 Porsche 911 of Porsche The Bend Manthey. The German car is driven by Riccardo Pera, Yasser Shahin and Richard Lietz, who are determined to fight until the very end for the World Championship.

For Tuscan driver Pera, this will be a particularly special event, racing in front of his home crowd and family. “It is a huge joy for me to finish the season in Monza, in Italy, practically at home, in front of my fans and family. We know we will have to give it everything we’ve got. Our goal is to win and bring home the World Championship title once again,” Pera said.

The #34 Corvette of Racing Team Turkey is another potential contender, while the #69 BMW M4 of Team WRT still has an outside mathematical chance, despite being 26 points off the lead. Italian fans will also be keeping a close eye on the #27 Aston Martin of Heart of Racing Team, featuring Mattia Drudi, and the #21 Ferrari Vista AF Corse, whose line-up includes Alessio Rovera.

The LMGT3 Drivers’ standings will also be worth watching. Jonny Edgar leads the way on 92 points at the wheel of the #33 Corvette. His teammate Nicky Catsburg can no longer catch him mathematically, while the drivers of the #92 Porsche, #34 Corvette and #69 BMW will be looking to challenge for the top positions.

The weekend schedule begins on Friday, 6 November, with Free Practice 1 from 10:30 to 12:00 and Free Practice 2 from 14:30 to 16:00. On Saturday, 7 November, the cars return to the track for Free Practice 3 from 10:30 to 11:30, followed by qualifying at 14:20. The 6 Hours of Monza will get underway on Sunday, 8 November, at 11:00.
