TRACK SAFETY: 42 OPERATORS TRAINED AT MONZA IN EXTRICATION COURSES

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April, two extrication courses were held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza under the auspices of Specialist Motorsport Academy.

The training activities were conducted by instructors Dr. Gianluca Greco, Dr. Paolo Mangili, and nurse Stefano Lodi, all affiliated with AREU (Regional Emergency and Urgency Agency).

A total of 42 participants were trained, including personnel from AREU, the Italian Red Cross, I-Help, and Padana Emergenza. Divided into working groups, participants practiced driver extrication techniques from single-seater cockpits and Gran Turismo cars, tackling realistic scenarios with a high level of operational complexity.

Specifically, during the course, both controlled and rapid extrication procedures were applied, using devices such as the BOA system and removable seats. This enabled participants to deal with emergency situations characterized by limited response times and critical conditions, improving their ability to respond and coordinate in high-risk environments.

“Specialist Motorsport Academy confirms its commitment to the specialized training of personnel involved in motorsport safety,” emphasized Raffaele Giammaria, Director of the ACI training school, “contributing to the continuous development of operational skills and the dissemination of best intervention practices.”
