AFTER THE RAIN, MEXICAN DRIVER RIVERA WINS EUROCUP-3 RACE 1 AT MONZA
The torrential rain that fell in the morning disrupted but did not stop the packed schedule at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, which this weekend is hosting the fourth round of the Eurocup-3 season. This is a single-make series using Tatuus cars, aimed at young drivers and organized by the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation. A wide range of support categories are also featured: BossGP, XGT 4, Supersport GT Series, and Lotus Cup Italy.
While the morning track activity was limited due to bad weather, the afternoon saw a continuous succession of qualifying sessions and races.
Mexican driver Emilio Rivera (Camos Racing – Tatuus T318) claimed victory in the first Eurocup-3 race, which ended under a Safety Car. In Supersport GT Race 1, Denny Santi (Lamborghini Super Trofeo EVO2 – DL Racing) took the win. Alessandro Bollini triumphed in the Legend Cars, while in BossGP, the top step of the podium was taken by Latvian driver Haralds Slegelmlhs. The final checkered flag of the day celebrated the victory of Lorenzo Tocci and Slovenian Mark Kastelic in XGT4 Italy, driving the Mercedes AMG GT4 for Lema Racing. The Superpole in the Lotus Cup Italia was secured by Alberto Naska with a time of 2’05″833, averaging 165.7 km/h.
Tomorrow, races will run from 9:00 AM to 3:55 PM. Admission is free, with only parking requiring payment.
