MONZA TURNS RED: FUOCO SECURES POLE POSITION FOR FERRARI. THOUSANDS OF FANS ENJOY THE PIT WALK

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza turns Ferrari red as the AF Corse Ferrari 499P #50 takes pole position for the 6 Hours of Monza, the final round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship. Setting the fastest time on a track that was still partly damp, Antonio Fuoco clocked an outstanding 1:33.364.

The Genesis #19 of Mathieu Jaminet will also start from the front row, while the second row will feature the Cadillac #38 of Earl Bamber and the Ferrari #51 of Antonio Giovinazzi. Robert Kubica’s Ferrari #83 will start eighth. The Peugeot #94 and Alpine #36 will line up on the third row. The two Toyotas, whose crews are fighting for the championship, will start from 15th position – the #8 of Buemi, Hartley and Hirakawa – and 16th – the #7 of Conway, Kobayashi and De Vries.

“Everything went well; we’ll be starting from the best possible position,” commented Fuoco. Miguel Molina highlighted the importance of support from the Italian fans, while Nicklas Nielsen reiterated the goal of securing second place in the Manufacturers’ Championship, still contested by Ferrari and BMW following Toyota’s early title victory.

In LMGT3, pole position went to the #78 Lexus Akkodis ASP Team, driven by Hadrien David, who posted a time of 1:47.523. The Frenchman benefited from a track-limits penalty handed to Eduardo Barrichello’s Aston Martin #23, which had set the fastest lap. Second place went to the TF Sport Corvette #33, just 14 thousandths of a second behind.

Thousands of fans took advantage of the pit walk and the Meet & Greet in the Fan Zone.

Tomorrow, the 6 Hours of Monza will get underway at 11:00 am. Spectacular entertainment and activities for fans will accompany the event before and during the race. On the starting grid, the Italian national anthem will be performed by Marta Bonato, while members of the Alpine Association’s Civil Protection Unit and representatives of the 30 groups belonging to the A.N.A. Monza and Brianza Section will carry the flags of Italy, FIA-ACO and the WEC.

The Fan Zone, featuring DJ sets by Marco Regaz & Fede Cerve and DJ Sibe, will offer fans a wide range of activities and attractions, including a dedicated children’s area, food and beverage outlets, simulators, Genesis test drives and official WEC merchandise shops.
