PIRELLI F1 TESTING CONCLUDED AT MONZA WITH SAINZ AND HADJAR ON TRACK
The two-day Pirelli test at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, dedicated to the development of the 2026 compounds, ended with a half-day on the track. Starring Carlos Sainz with the Williams and Isack Hadjar with the Racing Bulls.
The Spaniard completed 57 laps, with his best time of 1’22”108 on lap 24. Isack Hadjar stopped the stopwatch at 1’23”825 on lap 30 of 56. Ambient temperatures remained between 20°C and 25°C, and asphalt temperatures between 27°C and 32°C.
Considering also the laps completed yesterday, which were covered exclusively on slicks by the same two drivers, along with Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda for Red Bull and Felipe Drugovich for Aston Martin, a total of 467 laps were completed over the two days of Pirelli testing at Monza, for a total of 2,705 kilometers.
The tests allowed Pirelli to collect the data needed to continue development of the 2026 slick compounds, which must be homologated by Dec. 15.
Williams took to the track with a mule car derived from the current FW47, while the Racing Bulls used a modified 2024 VCARB01. The modifications to the cars were necessary in order to fit the prototype tires, which are slightly narrower than those currently in use, while maintaining the same diameter.
