Time for verdicts for the ACI Sport championships in Monza

Between 29 and 31 October, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza will host the second round of the ACI Racing Weekend, for a total of 10 races. All the series of the Italian championships will take to the track: Gran Turismo Endurance, Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, Clio Cup Europe and Porsche Carrera Cup Italia.

There are ten races scheduled for the second weekend of the ACI Racing Weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The event, which closes the racing season of the Italian championships after the opening again in the Temple of Speed last May, includes the races of five different series: Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship, Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, Clio Cup Europe and Porsche Carrera Cup Italia.

After the collective tests scheduled for today, all the series will run two races in Monza between Friday 29 October and Sunday 31 October, with the exception of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship, whose drivers will compete in a single 3-hour race on Sunday afternoon, and the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth, which has three 30-minute races + one lap between curbs of the Temple of Speed.

The fourth and final round of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship – a series of only GT3s – will be decisive for the assignment of the drivers’ title. The Audi R8 (Audi Sport Italia) driven by Mattia Drudi, Lorenzo Ferrari and Riccardo Agostini has a lead of 3 points (40 to 37) over the Ferrari 488 EVO (Scuderia Baldini 27) of Daniel Zampieri and Stefano Gai and of 5 lengths on the Lamborghini Huracan driven by Andrea Amici, Alberto Maria Di Folco and Stuart Middleton (Imperiale Racing). Mathematically, Carrie Schreiner is still in the running for the title on the other Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, but there are 14 points to recover from the top. The final race will start on Sunday at 13.45.

Everything has already been decided in the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth , the Tatuus T014 Abarth single-make championship (F.4, F.5 and F.6), which will open the racing program of the Brianza weekend. Bearman Oliver has already won the series, and his team (Van Amersfoort Racing) has already taken the constructors’ title. In the last race of the season, the 35 drivers entered will therefore race only for glory.

The same goes for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine , in which the Swiss Grégoire Saucy already has the victory in his pocket with his 93 points advantage over his rivals. The fight is heated both for the second place in the world championship, with five drivers still mathematically in the running, and for the constructors’ title, whose ranking currently sees the Art Grand Prix team ahead by just one length over R-Ace GP. They all race in Formula Alpine cars.

The last two championships to be held over the Monza weekend are the Clio Cup Europe and the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia . Among the Clio, it is a fight between teammates for the victory in the series. Arriving at the last race of the year, the French Marc Guillot and Anthony Jurado of the Milan Competition team are separated by 28 points, with the first in the lead.

In the Porsche single-make championship, however, there are still several drivers in the running for the overall title: Alberto Cerqui of Team Q8 HI Perform is first at the moment, with Alessandro Giardelli (Dinamic Motorsport – Centro Posche Bologna) just 6 points behind and Gianmarco Quaresmini (Tsunami RT – Porsche Center Brescia) of 22. Leonardo Caglioni, Marzio Moretti and Enrico Fulgenzi also have a faint hope of victory.

The event will be open to the public for the day of Sunday 31 October and spectators will be able to sit on four stands along the straight and the Ascari variant. Admission is free upon reservation of the seat on www.monzanet.it , while you will pay for the parking, with a cost of 15 euros for each car and 5 euros for each motorcycle. The parking ticket can only be purchased on the day of the event at the entrance to Vedano. All the live streams of the weekend and the related results are available on the website www.monzanet.it and www.acisport.it . (fm)
