PRESENTED THE POSTER OF THE GP OF ITALY: A HYMN TO THE TEMPLE OF SPEED
The official presentation of the poster for the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2025, scheduled to be held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza from September 5-7, the 16th round of the Formula 1 World Championship, was held this morning at the Automobile Club of Italy headquarters in Rome.
The event was attended by ACI Extraordinary Commissioner Tullio Del Sette, Sub-Extraordinary Commissioner Giovanni Battista Tombolato, and ACI President-elect Geronimo La Russa.
The theme of the 2025 poster is “The Sense of Speed,” a visual interpretation of the DNA of the Brianza circuit. Built in 1922, Monza is the second oldest permanent circuit in the world still in operation, after the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Its famous nickname, “Temple of Speed,” stems precisely from its unique characteristics: long straights, corners to be taken with the throttle wide open and – once upon a time – the High Speed Ring.
The 2025 poster, a graphic anticipation of the event and at the same time a collector’s item for fans, depicts speed as a dynamic vortex that merges the Italian tricolor with the blue of the ACI, which, having among its roles, that of national sports federation, is the owner of the Italian Grand Prix. Protagonists of the work are three single-seaters: Ferrari, the “red national team” of motorsport, triumphant at Monza in 2024 with Charles Leclerc and expected this year with a dream line-up that includes Lewis Hamilton, seven-time world champion; the Mercedes of young Italian talent Kimi Andrea Antonelli, emblem of the nursery of ACI Team Italia, the prestigious federal project dedicated to the growth of the best young Italian talents in motorsport; and the McLaren-Mercedes of this season’s protagonists, Australian Oscar Piastri and Briton Lando Norris, currently at the top of the championship.
Tullio Del Sette: “The poster, which we presented this morning and which will accompany the 96th edition of the Italian Grand Prix, the 75th since the F1 World Championship was established, features a vortex that from a chromatic point of view is an exaltation of our tricolor, within which there are the three cars that evoke today’s Formula 1: Ferrari, of course, McLaren, which is dominating the championship, and Kimi Andrea Antonelli’s Mercedes, the pride of Italy but also of ACI Team Italia. The tricolor swirl is surrounded by a stripe of blue, the institutional color of ACI, which is the Italian Automobile Sports Federation, affiliated with CONI, co-founder of the FIA and organizing the Grand Prix again this year.”
John Baptist Tombolato: “I am proud and proudly Italian. That is why everything that Monza represents – for the sportsmen, the public, the territory – makes me happy and is of primary importance. Monza is the racetrack with the most seniority in the rainbow calendar, considering that the one to be held in September will be the 75th on this track since the Formula 1 World Championship was established. Not even Monte Carlo, which has 71 or Silverstone at 60 can keep up with us. I invite fans to flock to Monza in droves. I am waiting for you all to achieve a new record.”
Geronimo La Russa: “Monza is home for me. But it is above all the home of F1, of the passion of the fans and of the highest technology. The longevity of its presence in F1 is confirmation of the importance of the work of all those who spend themselves daily to make an event that is good for the area and benefits the whole country. As ACI we will continue to strive to improve this experience and make it increasingly central to the national sporting scene.”
This will be the 96th edition of the Italian Grand Prix, and since 1950, the year the World Championship was established, Autodromo Nazionale Monza has continuously hosted the Italian GP, with the sole exception of 1980, when the race was held at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola. No other circuit in the world can boast such a regular presence on the rainbow calendar.
The official presentation of the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2025 will be held on September 2, at 12 noon, at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.
