ACI RACING WEEKEND IN MONZA: NAKAMURA BERTA ON POLE IN E4 CHAMPIONSHIP
The opening day of the ACI Racing Weekend at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza was marked by E4 Championship qualifying, which saw American Sebastian Wheldon (Prema Racing) with 1’51.440, average 187.139 km/h and Japanese Kean Nakamura Berta (Prema Racing) with 1’51.272, average 187.422 km/h, take pole positions. But the American, son of art (his father was Dan was later penalized with a two-place grid relegation for pushing another car off the track. It will therefore be Nakamura Berta who will start ahead of everyone in all three races.
In the single free practice session of the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship surprisingly the best time was achieved by a car from the GT Cup class, the Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2 of cousins Giacomo and Matteo Pollini, while in GT3 the best were Moncini-Di Amato (Honda NSX GT3). In the next two sessions, in which GT3 and GT Cup lapped separately, the best were Klingmann-Krohn (BMW G82 M4, Ceccato Racing) with 1’45.541 (average 196.991 km/h) in GT3 and Viglietti-Ianniello (Lamborghini Huracan ST Evo2, DL Racing) in GT Cup with 1’45.867 (average 196.991 km/h).
In the two collective test sessions of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, the top performers were Brazilian Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort, 1’47″682, average 193.670 km/h) and Frenchman Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix, 1’43″653, average 201.198 km/h).
In free practice for the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia best time for Frenchman Marvin Klein (BeDriver) with 1’48.708, at an average speed of 191.842 mph.
Tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 25, qualifying from 8:30 am to 11:25 am. Races will follow: 11:50 a.m. race 1 E4 Championship; 12:50 p.m. race 1 Freca; 1:50 p.m. race 1 GT Sprint GT Cup; 3:10 p.m. race 1 Porsche Carrera Cup Italia; 4:10 p.m. race 1 GT Sprint GT3.
