ACI RACING WEEKEND: MONZA DECIDES GT, FORMULA REGIONAL, E4 AND PORSCHE CUP TITLES

This weekend Autodromo Nazionale Monza hosts the last round of the season’s ACI Racing Weekends. On track will be cars from the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship (52 cars), Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (26), E4 Championship (33) and Porsche Carrera Cup Italia (34 911 GT3 Cup cars at the start).

In the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship, the GT3 Absolute classification sees Andrea Frassineti (Lamborghini Huracan EVO 2, VSR) leading by 9 points over the duo formed by German Jens Klingmann and Finn Jesse Krohn (BMW G82 M4-Ceccato Racing), while in PRO-AM Mattia Michelotto and Ignazio Zanon (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2, VSR) are just one point ahead of the duo formed by Finland’s William Alatalo and Leonardo Caglioni (BMW M4 GT3-Ceccato Racing). This last stage will also determine the winners of the four GT Cup class driver titles.

In this final act of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, which is also celebrating race number 100 in its history, it is a three-way challenge for the 2025 title between Englishman Freddie Slater (Prema Racing), leader with 263 points, Matteo De Palo (Trident Motorsport), detached by 4 points, and Frenchman Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), third at 233.

In the E4 Championship vying for the 2025 title there are still 6 drivers. The most credited is Japanese Kean Nakamura-Berta (Prema Racing) who leads the standings with 106 points chased at -10 by Brazilian Gabriel Gomez (US Racing), at -31 by American Alex Powell (R-ACE GP) and at -33 by Dutchman Reno Francot (PHM Racing). Fifth overall is Anglo-American Sebastian Wheldon (Prema Racing) at -35. And arithmetic also keeps Colombian Salim Hanna (Prema Racing) still in the running at -73.

As for Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, separated by only 4 points in the standings, Frenchman Marvin Klein (BeDriver) and South African Keagan Masters (Team Q8 Hi Perform) are competing for the title. Outsider, detached by 23 points from the top, is young German Alexander Tauscher (Target Competition), who with the other under-23s is aiming for a Scholarship Program nomination to participate in Porsche’s international selection.

The program includes tomorrow Formula Regional collective tests from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday free practice for all championships from 8:30 a.m. to 4:25 p.m. and then E4 Championship qualifying from 4:35 to 4:50 p.m. and 5 to 5:15 p.m. Saturday the first qualifying sessions for all other championships from 8:30 to 11:25 a.m. The races will follow: E4 at 11.50 a.m. (30′ plus 1 lap); Formula Regional at 12.50 p.m. (30′ plus 1 lap); C.I.Gran Turismo Sprint GT Cup at 1.50 p.m. (50′ plus 1 lap); Porsche Carrera Cup at 3.10 p.m. (28′ plus 1 lap); C.I. Gran Turismo Sprint GT3 at 4.10 p.m. (50′ plus 1 lap). Sunday will start with the second qualifying of the two groups A and B of Formula Regional 8.30-8.45 a.m. and 8.50-9.05 a.m. Then off to the races: race 2 E4 9.30 a.m. (30’+1 lap); race 2 C.I.Gran Turismo Sprint GT Cup 10 a.m.30 (50′ plus 1 lap); race 2 Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 12.30 p.m. (28′ plus 1 lap); race 2 C.I.Gran Turismo Sprint GT3 1.30 p.m. (50′ plus 1 lap); race 2 Formula Regional 2 2.50 p.m. (30′ plus 1 lap); race 3 E4 3.50 p.m. (30′ plus 1 lap).

GT, Formula Regional and E4 will be live on Aci Sport Tv (Sky channel 228) and the social channels of the various championships, Porsche’s will be on DAZN and the championship’s social channels.
