AS MANY AS 270 COMMISSIONERS IN MONZA TO PREPARE FOR 2025 SEASON
As many as 270 Route Marshals responded to the call of Automobile Club Milano, Autodromo Nazionale Monza and Specialist Motorsport Academy, the training school of Automobile Club d’Italia, participating in the day of training and refresher courses preparatory to the 2025 season: it began with theory, in which, after the initial speeches by the Vice President of Automobile Club Milano, Pietro Meda and Alessandro Tibiletti, President of the GuG and head of sports training at Specialist Motorsport Academy, the topic of safety under current regulations was addressed. This theme was introduced by the Director of Automobile Club Milano, Paolo Roggero and continued later with the speeches of Umberto Andreoletti, Safety Delegate of Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Davide Spinelli, Prevention and Protection Service Manager (RSPP) of AC Milano, Rino Donghi, competent doctor for Sias, Michele Taddei and Luigi Felisa, who are the Sias/Autodromo Nazionale Monza RSPPs.
Fifth spoke the Race Directors, Oscar Comi and Renato Schmidt, who also answered the commissioners’ questions.
Then, in the afternoon, the First Variant was used to simulate tests to recover and secure cars, which were involved in accidents or stopped along the track. To this was also added a review on how to clean the asphalt strip from debris. Also taking advantage of the presence of firefighting personnel, the commissioners also gladly participated in a session under the expert guidance of Pietro Andreoni.
Pietro Meda, Vice President of AC Milano: “Our stewards are a feather in the cap of our racetrack, they are the ones who make it come alive and allow us to hold wonderful races and do it safely. Training is a pivotal element of safety. The fact that they are trained and skilled. have dealt with ad hoc created situations that can be repeated during a race. This is important in order to be safe throughout the year of racing that we are about to go through.”
Alessandro Tibiletti, president of the GuG and head of sports training at Specialist Motorsport Academy: “This day was very important In Italy there are 900 races, two Formula 1 grand prix races, a round of the World Rally Championship, races valid for the European championships. And all these very important competitions absolutely need trained stewards and that’s what we as an Academy have been doing for over a year and Monza is giving us a big hand in this.”
