GRAND PRIX OF ITALY: THE HEART OF FORMULA 1 BEATS IN MONZA

The fastest three days of the year in Monza closed yesterday: drawing up the balance of the 96th edition of the Italian Grand Prix today in the town hall was Mayor Paolo Pilotto together with Prefect Enrico Roccatagliata, SIAS Autodromo Nazionale Monza President Giuseppe Redaelli and ACI Milano Deputy Vice President Pietro Meda.

According to data provided by SIAS Autodromo Nazionale Monza this edition of the Italian Grand Prix recorded a record attendance of At 369,041 attendance over the three days.

Roads and public transportation. The extraordinary mobility plan, now consolidated for major events in the city, prepared in collaboration with "Monza Mobility," worked. The choice of many fans to reach the circuit by public transport was confirmed thanks to the shuttle system, and in particular the Black Shuttle, which connected the Monza Railway Station to the Park: over 62,000 passengers registered in the three-day event.

Users also took advantage of the expansion of shared mobility tools, confirming the popularity of shared scooters and bicycles, which registered 12,183 rentals compared to 10,200 last year.

The nine maxi parking lots (Platinum, Gold, Red, Blue, Orange, Brown, Purple, White and Green), managed by Monza Mobility accommodated 18,500 vehicles over the three days (more than 11,800 on Sunday alone), as well as 290 buses.

Trenord. Over the GP weekend, Trenord ran extraordinary trains between Milan and Monza and between Milan and Biassono, in addition to the ordinary service, and upgraded train compositions.

More than 36 thousand passengers bought special tickets offered by Trenord to reach the Autodrome by train.

TO these are in addition to the several thousand travelers who, between Friday and Sunday, reached Monza station, served on weekdays and holidays by 380 and 300 trains a day, respectively, and Biassono Lesmo station with ordinary tickets and passes.

Operators from Trenord's Assistance and Security teams for the three days of the event carried out manning actions at Monza, Biassono Lesmo and Milan stations to direct the flow of people in getting on and off trains.

Local Police and Civil Defense. A total of 600 Local Police officers were deployed, with an average of 235 operators per day distributed on shifts from 06:00 to 22:00, ensuring more than 7,000 hours of service on September 5, 6 and 7.
Of these, about 300 operators were fielded by the Monza Local Police Command, which made the most significant contribution.

20 penalties were imposed by the Consumer and Business Protection Unit, amounting to about 9,260 euros, with the administrative seizure and confiscation of about 250 bottles of water and beer sold without authorization.

On Sunday afternoon, the outflow of spectators began at 4:15 p.m. and proceeded smoothly; by 7:15 p.m. traffic was back to normal, and the exit of fans from the city was completed without any particular critical issues.

The Civil Defense 's planned emergency plan for the city of Monza involved 295 volunteers for 1730 hours of service. The Plan, on the back of 2024, was drafted in an integrated manner with the municipalities of Vedano al Lambro, Biassono, Villasanta and Lissone, thus also integrating this service with that of the Local Police, a long coordination effort that began in May.

Once again this year, a special localized weather forecasting service provided by the Regional Natural Hazards Monitoring Functional Center was activated for the occasion, which saw the issuance of 4 specific weather bulletins (from Thursday 4/09) localized for the Monza area. This service was complemented by the nowcasting systems for forecasting short-term exceptional weather phenomena of the Civil Protection Service of the City of Monza.

Waste collection. Extraordinary waste collection operations inside the Park and in the city will be completed in the next few hours. According to an initial estimate inside the Park, there are 16 tons of waste produced during the days of the Grand Prix, to which must be added the 82 tons already collected in the Autodrome area and the same number that will be produced at the end of the cleaning and dismantling operations. In the city there are already 21 tons collected and already delivered to date.

Public water. BrianzAcque has dispensed 78 thousand liters of public water at the various distribution points installed within the Autodrome area, resulting in a saving of about 156 thousand half-liter plastic bottles: these figures register a +53% compared to 2024.

A total of 761 liters of water were tapped at the dispenser installed for visitors to the FuoriGP in St. Paul Square.

#MonzaFuoriGP2024 and tourist reception.. 62,000 people is the estimated total attendance to the four-day event.

The Cambiaghi Square concerts were attended by more than 9,000 spectators, including 3,500 on Friday and 5,500 on Saturday, September 6.

About 28,000 people passed through the street-food area set up at the Boschetti Reali, while the total flow in the other areas of the event was 25,000 people distributed among Trento and Trieste Square, Largo IV Novembre, Roma Square, Carducci Square, Via Vittorio Emanuele, Carrobiolo Square, Colombo Bridge, and Spalto Maddalena.

Five information points set up, which intercepted 11,276 total contacts, with 7032 Italian tourists (62.4%) and 4,244 foreigners or 37.6%, with a significant numerical growth of both Italian and foreign visitors. Among the information points, the FS Station recorded the highest incidence of foreign tourists at 65 percent, while the most frequented were Trento and Trieste Square and Station Front.

During the event weekend, 17 guided tours were organized to discover the city in Italian, English, and French, which were attended by a total of 421 visitors (it was 220 in 2024).

29,000 programs of the event distributed at the Old Town, FS Station, shuttle stops and accesses to the Autodrome. Content posted on social channels gained wide visibility: 9,720,000 views were recorded on Facebook and 2,400,000 on Instagram.

Increased promotional activity for the event was also made possible by €40,000.00 in funding from the Lombardy Region through the"Olympic Hearts" initiative.

The authorities present. Present at the press conference were Questore Filippo Ferri, Carabinieri Commander Rosario Di Gangi, Guardia di Finanza Commander Gerardo Marinelli, Provincial Fire Brigade Command representative Davide Fratantoni, and Local Police Commander Giovanni Dongiovanni.

"The city of Monza has shown that it is able to put into play an adequate organizational machine for an international sporting event that has seen a record influx. The effort of responsibility and professionalism that all the Institutions and Public Bodies have made has made it possible to offer welcome and safety to the many people who have reached the city in these days ," explained Mayor Paolo Pilotto, " and at the same time to allow a serene enjoyment of the city for residents as well.

THE GP OF ITALY IN HISTORY: NEVER SO MANY PEOPLE AT A SPORTING EVENT IN ITALY

The Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2025 has concluded, registering an extraordinary success in terms of spectators, with 369,041 attendees over the days of the event, an increase of more than 10 percent compared to last year's edition (335,000). Never before have so many people attended a sports event in Italy.

Winning the 96th edition of the Italian race, under the eyes of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, was Max Verstappen at the wheel of the Red Bull RB21. For the Dutchman, it is the third success at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza after those of 2022 and 2023. Completing the 53 laps of the track in 1h13'24"325, at an average speed of 250.706 km/h, Max also won the fastest race in history, breaking the previous record that had stood since 2003 (Michael Schumacher's success with Ferrari in 1h14'19"838).

As a year ago, the other two steps of the podium were occupied by McLaren F1 Team drivers: Britain's Lando Norris and Australia's Oscar Piastri, the championship leader.

They were honored by the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, and the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Automobile Club of Italy, Tullio Del Sette.

Also among the authorities was ACI President-elect Geronimo La Russa, still serving as president of the Automobile Club Milano.

In fourth and sixth place were Ferraristi Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes AMG Petronas) finished ninth after a ten-second penalty.

Such public success rewards the joint efforts of Automobile Club d'Italia, as the national sports federation and as such organizer of the event, Automobile Club Milano, Autodromo Nazionale Monza and all the suppliers and partners involved in organizing the event. All have worked with dedication to ensure a high-level experience for all fans.

This success once again underscores the appeal of the Italian Grand Prix as one of the most anticipated and followed events on the World Championship calendar, as well as the ability of the entire Italian organizational system to attract and manage major international sporting events.

As for the other races Luke Browning (Hitech TGR) took his first Formula 2 victory at the end of the Feature Race. Joshua Dürksen finished in second position ahead of Spaniard Pepe Martí (Campos Racing). Leonardo Fornaroli (Invicta Racing), supported by the home crowd, finished in fifth position. Seventh was Gabriele Minì (Prema Racing).

The Formula 3 Feature Race saw the first success of Thailand's Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak (Campos Racing). The Italians: 14th Brando Badoer (Prema Racing), 19th Nicola Marinangeli (AIX Racing) and 22nd Nicola Lacorte (DAMS Lucas Oil).

Autodromo Nazionale Monza makes an appointment for Formula 1 fans to the 97th edition of the Italian Grand Prix that will be scheduled from September 4 to 6, 2026. In the coming days it will already be possible to purchase tickets.

QUEEN'S RING TO VERSTAPPEN (RED BULL) AFTER RECORD POLE AT 264 AVERAGE

Max Verstappen took pole position at the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2025 being held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza: the 4-time world champion signed, at the wheel of his Red Bull RB21, a record lap: 1'18"792, at an average of 264.681 km/h, the highest ever recorded in Formula 1 history. Thus shattered the previous record that had stood for five years and was achieved by Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes AMG Petronas with 1'18"887.

Conquering the pole, Verstappen thus also received the Queen's Ring, which was presented to him by the Undersecretary with responsibility for sports and youth, Federica Picchi, and the Mayor of Monza, Paolo Pilotto. The brainchild of Antonio Mariani and Enrico Squarzina, this jewel was made by Guido Guzzi, a goldsmith artist from Monza who, inspired by the Iron Crown, inserted elements that recall the checkered flag and the colors of the Flag of Italy with precious stones set on the ring.

On the front row with the Dutchman, on his second Monza pole, after that of 2021, will be Britain's Lando Norris (McLaren F1 Team, 1'18"869). In second is the other Woking driver and World Championship leader, Australian Oscar Piastri (1'18"982) and the first of the Ferraristi, Charles Leclerc (1'19"007). Lewis Hamilton finished with the fifth fastest time at the wheel of the second red, but, due to the penalty he received at the previous Dutch GP, he will start from the fifth row. Seventh time but sixth at the start was Andrea Kimi Antonelli, a product of the ACI nursery: the Mercedes driver from Bologna stopped the clock at 1'19"200. The 96th Italian GP will start tomorrow at 3 p.m. and will be run on the traditional 53 laps.

Monza Saturday heard the Hymn of Mameli resound thanks to Leonardo Fornaroli (Invicta Racing): the driver from Piacenza dominated the Formula 2 sprint race, consolidating his lead in the standings. Thanks to a precise maneuver, he overtook poleman Dino Beganovic and then confidently managed the lead until the checkered flag. Podium completed by Briton Arvid Lindblad (Campos Racing) and Paraguayan Joshua Durksen (AIX Racing). Seventh
Gabriele Minì (Prema).

The Formula 3 race was won by Poland's Roman Bilinski (Rodin Motorsport). Italians: Nicola Marinangeli (AIX Racing) 20th, Brando Badoer (Prema) 27th and Nicola Lacorte (DAMS Lucas Oil) 28th.

On the ACI terrace, Extraordinary Commissioner, Tullio Del Sette, wanted to meet a delegation from Numia Vero Volley Milano, the women's team that plays in the Superleague and trains and plays several matches at the Opiquad Arena in Monza. "This is one of the sporting excellences of the area," the General stressed, before donating - together with ACI Sub-Commissioner Giovanni Battista Tombolato -, a scarf reproducing the design of the poster of the Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2025 to Elena Petrini, Emma Cagnin, Nicole Modesti, Francesca Bosio, Vita Akimova and team manager Mariana Carrati. Last season the volleyball players won a bronze medal in the Champions League and at the World Cup they played in the Scudetto final and finished second in the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa.

The meeting between ACI top management and Numia Vero Volley Milano was also attended by three young drivers of the ACI Team Italia national team in rallies. They are Francesco Dei Ceci, engaged this year in the FIA European Rally Championship, Matteo Greco and Giacomo Marchioro participating in the Italian Absolute Rally Junior Championship, representing the federal nursery in road competitions.

GP ITALY 2025: “EVERY DRIVER, A TREE” – THE FOREST OF THE DRIVERS IS BORN

With a simple yet highly symbolic ceremony, the "Bosco dei Piloti" (Forest of the Drivers) was inaugurated in the “Bosco Bello” area, near the Variante Ascari, as part of the “Every Driver, a Tree” project.

The planting of 20 new trees—one for each driver competing in the Formula 1 Pirelli Grand Prix of Italy 2025, taking place on Sunday the 7th—and a “Cypress of Saint Francis” (a clone of the monumental specimen kept in the cloister of the Franciscan monastery in Villa Verucchio, Rimini), was attended by:

  • Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1

  • Tullio Del Sette, Extraordinary Commissioner of ACI

  • Giovanni Battista Tombolato, Deputy Commissioner of ACI

  • Geronimo La Russa, President-elect of ACI

  • Fabrizio Parrulli, Corps General, Commander of the Forestry, Environmental and Agri-food Units.

This initiative—promoted by the Automobile Club of Italy and the Monza National Circuit, with the support of the Carabinieri Command for Forestry, Environmental and Agri-food Units—is part of “A Tree for the Future”, a major environmental education project by the Carabinieri. So far, more than 50,000 trees have been planted across schools and cities in Italy, as well as in areas hosting key international motorsport events.

Domenicali: "This initiative connects our sport to the future of the planet"

“The creation of the ‘Forest of the Drivers’ at the Monza National Circuit is a concrete symbol of our mission for environmental education, and reflects our shared responsibility to show how motorsport can contribute to a more sustainable future,” emphasized Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1.
“It’s wonderful to see every driver represented by a tree, creating a living legacy that ties our sport to the planet’s future. Formula 1 is on its way to achieving Net Zero by 2030, and we are committed to promoting positive change, both on and off the track. I would like to congratulate the Automobile Club of Italy, the Carabinieri, and all local partners for their dedication to this project.”

Del Sette: “Motorsport must play an active role in Italy’s ecological transition”

“This is not just about increasing the green heritage of our country,” said Extraordinary Commissioner Del Sette.
“It’s about affirming that the world of motorsport can and must be an active player in Italy’s vital ecological transition.”
“This ‘Forest of the Drivers’ is here to remind us all that sport, safety, technology, and the environment can contribute significantly to building a better future—not just within the circuits hosting the world’s most beloved sporting events, but especially outside them.”

Tombolato: “Loving this sport means turning it into an opportunity for environmental action”

“This initiative perfectly represents the attention that motorsport in general, and Italian motorsport—through ACI in particular—gives to the environment,” said ACI Deputy Commissioner Tombolato.
“It’s easy, obvious, and above all wrong to believe the outdated idea that ‘motorsport equals pollution’ and indifference to the natural world. We know that’s not true.
In fact, the truth is the opposite.
And today, here, we testify to that once again.
Loving this sport, as we do, also means being mindful of its environmental impact and turning every race into an opportunity for deeper reflection and concrete, visible action.”

La Russa: “A small gesture for us, but a big message for motorsport fans”

“A small gesture for us gathered here today, but a powerful message for motorsport and Formula 1 fans everywhere and of all ages,” said ACI President-elect La Russa.
“We hope these trees—whose roots symbolize the support and inspiration of our past, whose trunks give shape and strength to the present, and whose branches hold our hope for the future—will become the most vivid and vital symbol of the mission to which we’ve chosen to dedicate our best energies: giving the Monza National Circuit a future truly worthy of its extraordinary and unforgettable past.”

Parrulli: “Leveraging the appeal of sport to awaken consciences and raise greater awareness about protecting the planet”

“‘Every Driver, a Tree’ aims to offset the emissions from all major races held each year under the auspices of the ACI Federation,” said Parrulli.
“This project is intended to be a driving force for reforestation that promotes the biodiversity of the territory—not only from a botanical perspective but also a faunal one. The benefits even extend to insects, especially pollinators, which are essential to human survival.
Our commitment is not only environmental but also cultural, and this initiative was born as an environmental education project—using the appeal of sport to awaken people’s awareness and stimulate a deeper understanding of the role each of us plays in safeguarding the planet.”

Pilotto: "Ensuring a balance between sporting and technological development and the preservation and enhancement of the park's green and tree-rich heritage"

"The environmental value of the Park is unique, and Monza offers it every year to its many motorsport enthusiasts," said Pilotto. "This initiative confirms the shared commitment and sensitivity between the Villa Reale e Parco Consortium and the Autodromo Nazionale to ensuring a balance between sporting and technological development and the preservation and enhancement of the park's and city's green and tree-rich heritage. After the severe storms of 2023, even the most affected area of Bosco Bello will be able to recover."

PRESENTED THE FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAND PRIX OF ITALY 2025: IT WILL BE A RECORD-BREAKING EDITION

ust a few days remain before the engines of the twenty single-seaters roar to life for the Formula 1 Pirelli Gran Premio d’Italia 2025, the 16th round of the World Championship, set against the stunning backdrop of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The event was officially presented this morning in the "Sala Regione" at the legendary Lombardy circuit.

In attendance were the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, the Mayor of Monza Paolo Pilotto, and Martina Riva, Sports Councillor for the Municipality of Milan.

Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1, sent a video message of greeting. There were also virtual appearances from Matteo Salvini, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, and Andrea Abodi, Minister for Sport and Youth Policies.

Hosting the ceremony were Tullio Del Sette, Special Commissioner of the Automobile Club d’Italia (ACI), Giovanni Battista Tombolato, ACI Deputy Commissioner, Geronimo La Russa, newly elected ACI President and still acting as President of AC Milan, and Giuseppe Redaelli, President of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

During the event, a memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Lombardy Region and ACI for future investments.

Tullio Del Sette (Special Commissioner, ACI)

“The 96th Italian Grand Prix, in the 75th year of the Formula 1 World Championship, promises to be a hugely successful edition. Over the three race days — Friday, Saturday, and Sunday — we are set to break the attendance record set last year.
But it won’t just be about racing: the Monza Grand Prix will also highlight key values beyond sport, such as Italian identity, sustainability, and solidarity.
The ‘One Driver, One Tree’ initiative will be enhanced this year by planting a clone of the Saint Francis Cypress, a symbol of peace and environmental respect. This marks the beginning of a large-scale reforestation project, led by ACI together with the Lombardy Region, the Parco della Valle del Lambro, and the Villa Reale Consortium, to restore the woodlands of the Monza Park damaged by a natural disaster in July 2023.
For the first time, the Fan Zone will also include stations dedicated to cardiovascular health prevention and blood donation throughout the weekend.
On the track, Sunday will feature emotionally charged moments, including a parachute jump by the Folgore Brigade of the Italian Army carrying the Italian flag, the ACI and Formula 1 flags, a flyover by the Frecce Tricolori, and a performance of the National Anthem by the Carabinieri Band and tenor Vittorio Grigolo.
Monza is motorsport, but it is also culture. The circuit aims to serve not only as a venue for competitions but also as a historic heritage site to be preserved. ACI is committed to involving all central, regional, and local institutions in restoring the now-dilapidated High-Speed Oval.
Let’s not forget that the first Grand Prix in Italy took place in 1921 in Montichiari, and since then, Monza has hosted 89 editions, making it the most prestigious motorsport event in the country — a source of pride and responsibility for ACI as the National Sporting Federation for motorsport.”

Giovanni Battista Tombolato (Deputy Commissioner, ACI)

“The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is a sacred place for motorsport. The record-breaking crowd is proof of the passion that surrounds this event.
This season has seen McLaren dominate, but as an Italian, I hope that, like last year, Ferrari can achieve something extraordinary.
They have the drivers to do it: Charles Leclerc, who won on his Monza debut in 2019 and again last year, and Lewis Hamilton, who received a grid penalty in the Netherlands but still holds five wins at Monza, tying the all-time record with Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher.
We also hope for a great weekend from the young Italian driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, whose development has been strongly supported by ACI — a source of great pride for us.”

Geronimo La Russa (President-elect, ACI)

“The Temple of Speed represents the essence of motorsport: history, bravery, and innovation, all brought to life by the overwhelming passion of the fans, making each race a unique experience.
The 2025 Italian Grand Prix will be not just a sporting event, but a true celebration of our national motorsport identity.
It coincides with anniversaries that speak to the hearts of fans and reinforce Italy’s leadership in the field:

  • Ferrari will mark the 50th anniversary of Niki Lauda’s world title, won here in 1975 with the iconic 312T.

  • On September 6, Alfa Romeo will celebrate 100 years since its first of five World Championships, achieved at Monza in 1925 by Gastone Brilli-Peri in the P2.
These anniversaries, along with F1’s 75th season, create a bridge between past and future, celebrating a legacy that is enriched each year with new feats on the Monza track.
Monza is the most beautiful circuit in the world not just because of speed, but because it holds the dreams and achievements that have made motorsport immortal.”

Stefano Domenicali (President & CEO, Formula 1)

“The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is far more than a circuit — it is a symbol of the passion and tradition linking Formula 1 with Italy.
Since the inaugural F1 Championship in 1950, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza has been an almost constant fixture on our calendar.
I want to thank the Automobile Club d’Italia, the Italian Government, and the Lombardy Region for their ongoing support and collaboration, which have allowed this iconic event to continue growing and evolving.
Most importantly, I want to thank the Italian fans, whose boundless enthusiasm makes this race truly unique year after year.
I can’t wait to experience another unforgettable Grand Prix with hundreds of thousands of fans this weekend.”

Attilio Fontana (President, Lombardy Region)

“The 96th edition of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix reaffirms Monza’s century-old circuit as the definitive Temple of Speed.
The upgrade and improvement works to the track and facilities, to which the Lombardy Region made a tangible contribution, are plain for all to see.
However, the issue of the concession between the Villa Reale Consortium and ACI must still be resolved, as ACI needs to confirm the possibility of holding the Grand Prix beyond 2028 by the end of 2026.
I’m confident a solution will be found, through teamwork among institutions united by a shared goal of keeping this prestigious international event in Monza.
Two other points of pride:

  • Tickets for Sunday, September 7, are already sold out — a fantastic result.

  • The mobility plan for the Grand Prix has become a case study for the Madrid municipal police, who will debut on the F1 calendar in 2026. Another great achievement.”

Paolo Pilotto (Mayor of Monza & President, Villa Reale and Park Consortium)

“Organizing the Italian Grand Prix — an ever-growing attraction — is the result of teamwork among institutions, lasting the entire year from one race to the next, requiring constant adjustments to further improve both the sporting event and the city’s hospitality.
10,000 extra parking spaces, special trains and shuttle buses, coordinated multi-agency traffic management — all combine with cultural, entertainment, and tourism initiatives offered throughout the event, enhancing the experience for visitors from over 60 countries.
Focus on the development and continuous improvement of the Autodromo goes hand-in-hand with the beauty of the 700-hectare Park that hosts it.
In this spirit, the Lombardy Region's major reforestation effort is planned to address the loss of trees caused by the 2023 storms — all within the Autodromo’s surroundings.”

Martina Riva (Councillor for Sport, Tourism and Youth Policies, City of Milan)

“The Italian Grand Prix is far more than a race — it’s an event that ignites the passion of hundreds of thousands of people every year, placing Milan and Monza at the center of the global stage.
Its inclusion on the F1 calendar until 2031 is a recognition of the Autodromo’s historical value and organizational ability, as well as of the strength of the region, which continues to welcome world-class events with professionalism and vision.
For Milan, the Grand Prix means tourism, economic growth, and global visibility — a legacy that grows year after year, confirming that sport is a strategic tool for urban development.”

Giuseppe Redaelli (President, Autodromo Nazionale Monza)

“The record-breaking numbers for the 2025 Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix are proof not only of Formula 1’s growing popularity, but also of the immense affection for Monza.
To welcome fans in the best possible way, we have made major investments in services and infrastructure:

  • Over 4,000 new grandstand seats in grass areas (more than doubled)

  • A total of 34 grandstands and 36 large screens
    Inclusion is a core value:
    • Dedicated grandstands and equipped areas for people with disabilities

    • Free water and sunscreen in collaboration with BrianzAcque and LILT
With ATS Brianza, we’ll also recover unsold meals for redistribution — as in 2024, when over 3.5 tons of food were donated to 270 families in need.
We’re also partnering with third-sector organizations like PizzAut and Openhouse, which promote job inclusion for young people with disabilities.
Finally, local engagement is growing thanks to the ‘Fuori GP’ initiative, which now involves seven neighboring municipalities, showing how this event is a shared treasure for the entire Brianza area.
It’s a true team effort that unites sport, passion, solidarity, and sustainability.”

FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAND PRIX OF ITALY 2025: BRIANZACQUE’S ZERO-KILOMETRE PUBLIC WATER RETURNS TO THE TEMPLE OF SPEED

Once again for the 96th Italian Grand Prix, BrianzAcque will be present inside the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, increasing its commitment to promote the consumption of public tap water — free and locally sourced (zero-kilometer).

The new Memorandum of Understanding between BrianzAcque and Autodromo Nazionale Monza consolidates a partnership that began in 2022 and has expanded year after year in the name of environmental sustainability. The agreement aims to significantly reduce the use of plastic bottles, thereby avoiding the production, transportation, and disposal of thousands of single-use containers.

A Green Initiative for the Environment and the Public

During the three-day event (September 5–6–7), there will be 9 microfiltered water dispensers — with enhanced dispensing power and cooling capacity — placed in strategic high-traffic areas: Central Grandstand (2 dispensers); Camping Parco; Outer Parabolica Grandstand; Serraglio; Ascari Chicane; Paddock (2 dispensers); City of Monza stand.

These will be joined by the dispenser in the Press Room, now a fixed installation, one on the ACI Terrace, and a new kiosk at the Public Safety Offices. The real novelty this year will be found in the Fanzone: three “super kiosks” offering 10 taps each. In addition, the permanent "House of Water" located by the Fangio statue will also be operational, as it is all year round. In total, over 40 water access points will be available.

The water — still or sparkling, cold or room temperature — will be safe and monitored, microfiltered without altering its original properties.

“The partnership with BrianzAcque is now a cornerstone of our sustainability vision: we share a concrete goal to reduce single-use plastic consumption, encouraging more responsible and environmentally friendly habits,” said Giuseppe Redaelli, President of Autodromo Nazionale Monza. “From this perspective, our collaboration with BrianzAcque is strategic for the development of the Park. Our legendary circuit, known as the Temple of Speed, has always been a place where innovation and respect for the environment come together. This year, we will provide 26 water points with 128 taps.”

“We want to make a real contribution,” emphasized Enrico Boerci, President and CEO of BrianzAcque, “to reducing the environmental impact of the Grand Prix by offering fans the chance to hydrate without using single-use plastic. With this well-established partnership, we reaffirm our commitment to real, visible, and shared sustainability. Tap water, locally sourced, of excellent quality, is a public asset — one to promote and enhance, including through occasions like this. Bringing it inside the Temple of Speed means introducing it to hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world — another way to showcase the innovation and environmental responsibility that drive our daily work.”

“We’re lucky,” said Luca Santambrogio, President of the Province of Monza and Brianza. “The most precious resource in the world is right here for us — at our fingertips. Thanks to the collaboration of all involved partners, we can enjoy it freely, easily, and increasingly throughout our cities, homes, workplaces, and even during major events like the Monza Formula 1 Grand Prix, which draws hundreds of thousands of people. This resource is even more valuable considering that in our area it’s not only easily accessible, but also cheaper than bottled water and of excellent quality, thanks to deep aquifer extraction and continuous testing. But please — no waste! Enjoy the event and your stay in Monza and Brianza.”

“Public water,” said Mayor Paolo Pilotto, “is not only a precious asset and a resource to be valued in every context, but its management is also a challenge that public bodies and utilities are demonstrating they can handle — with attention to quality, efficiency, and both economic and ecological values. Seeing it take center stage at the Italian Grand Prix strengthens the value of a commitment that finds an outstanding example in the high quality and reach of the Monza and Brianza water service. This is a tangible demonstration of how international events of this scale can align with constant care and sensitivity toward local natural resources.”

“This is a clear and visible sign of our commitment to environmental sustainability,” noted Riccardo Borgonovo, President of ATO MB, “combined with innovation and the enhancement of our local water network. Providing a service to all speed enthusiasts at one of the most prestigious global sporting events is a call to individual responsibility — to reduce waste and use a common resource like water responsibly. It’s a step toward sustainable development where environment, society, and economy form the pillars of future smart communities.”

Less Plastic, More Sustainability

During the 2024 GP weekend, an estimated 103,000 half-liter single-use plastic bottles were saved thanks to the consumption of over 51,000 liters of water, specifically 51,681 liters — an increase of over 60% compared to 2023.

At an iconic site in Brianza like the Autodromo, even water takes the spotlight. Not just speed — the 2025 Italian Grand Prix will also be a celebration of local excellence and forward-thinking sustainability.
