The traffic lights go out for the Time Attack Series cars at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The pilots of the Italian series will return to the Temple of Speed to challenge each other in search of the fastest lap.

The FIA WEC returns to Monza also in 2023. After the successful editions of 2021 and 2022, the WEC – 6 Hours of Monza of the FIA World Endurance Championship is reconfirmed as one of the seven seasonal appointments of the prestigious world championship dedicated to Hypercar, LMP2 and LMGTE Am, with the Italian stage in program on the weekend of July 7, 8 and 9 .

The 2023 FIA WEC season will see a total of 38 full-season entrants from 12 different countries plus a record number of teams competing in the Hypercar and LMGTE Am categories. Over the course of just one year – the WEC Hypercar field has more than doubled with a total of 13 entries in 2023 (up from six in 2022). Among them, the two Ferrari 499Ps will make their debut this season, which the public will be able to see up close and personal if purchasing a ticket for the event.

The two cars of the Prancing Horse, a team that will return to the top class of endurance racing 50 years after its last appearance, will be fighting for the top step of the Monza podium – a position that André Negrao, Nicolas Lapierre and Matthieu Vaxivière occupied last year as the 2022 winners   with the Alpine A480 – Gibson.

The Porsche Club Suisse is the Swiss one-make championship of Porsche. The traditional appointment with the GT Open International Series will return to the Temple of Speed also in 2023, when the championship will experience its 19th season, confirming itself as one of the major GT pro-am competitive platforms in Europe. It was 2006 when GT Sport and ex-driver Jesús Pareja launched the series, shortly after the launch of the GT Sport single-seater formula, today’s Euroformula.

All the tracks of the GT Open are historic tracks of the Formula 1 Championship, with a 2023 calendar that will not differ much from that of 2022. The only new entry will be Portimao, which will open the season on April 30th. Monza will remain the penultimate stage between 22 and 24 September, and could be decisive for the assignment of the drivers’ and constructors’ titles, before the final appointment in Barcelona on 22 October.

Also in 2023 the Special Rally Circuit organized by Vedovati Corse returns to the Temple of Speed. The 4 Special Stages will be scheduled, as per tradition, on Sunday, while on Saturday there will be space for technical and sporting checks and for the shakedown. In the last two editions, over one hundred drivers have taken part in the rally competition, for a parterre of participants so crowded as to ensure entertainment and surprises.

In 2023 the MIMO – Milano Monza Motor Show will be one of the key events in the calendar of commercial events organized and hosted by the Temple of Speed. Unlike the past two editions, in which the Autodrome had been the home of only the dynamic activities of the event, in 2023 the Circuit will be transformed for 3 days, between 16 and 18 June, into a real “City of Engines”.

During MIMO – Milano Monza Motor Show, the racetrack will become the largest test drive area, with kilometers of routes suitable for two and four-wheelers in every market segment and category. In addition, there will be fashion shows, thematic areas, street food and entertainment.

Furthermore, the Indy Autonomous Challenge will take place in Italy for the first time, the competition of driverless racing cars that is increasingly attracting the attention of the media and technology enthusiasts. And it will be the Autodromo Nazionale Monza to host it. Among the contenders for victory, there will also be the Politecnico di Milano, winner of the last two editions.

Like previous editions, the 2023 appointment will also be free for visitors who will be able to test and compare all the new car and motorcycle models proposed by the manufacturers in complete safety.
